Unity, ME - The men's basketball team came out of the weekend with a win over Great Bay CC and a loss to College of St. Joseph's. They are now 4-9 with 3 games remaing in the 2016 regular season.
On Sunday, the Rams faced the YSCC top seed Fighting Saints of the College of St. Joseph and lost 99-71. Eddie Kopacz led all scorers with 25 points. Sean Tocci added 14 and Hunter Engel had 13 points. Engel led all rebounders with eight and Kopacz had 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
In the First game of the weekend, the men earned an 11 point win over the Herons of Great Bay CC. The men lead the game from start to finish and had as much as a 17 point lead. Eddie Kopacz lead the Rams with a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds. Sean Tocci added 23 points and Adam Merrill had 16. With the win, the men have secured a spot in the YSCC playoffs for the first time since the conference went to an eight team playoff. The Great Bay game was webcast and can be watched here.
The men will travel to Aurburn to face Central Maine CC on Wednesday and will play at home on Sunday against UM Presque Isle.
